"... contains a series of creative nonfiction stories about home-based palliative care, developed within the theoretical framework of social constructionism. The research and writing process utilised an interative cycle of gathering information, sharing evolving drafts with participants, seeking feedback and negotiating changes. Reflections based on my own experience as a caregiver link the individual stories, and the final section is a memoir about the time I spend looking after my mother, an anxious optimist who finally succumbed to breast cancer in November 2006"--Abstract.
