Women who use force in a domestic and family violence context

Domestic violence is recognised as a gendered form of violence with women disproportionately impacted in terms of the severity, lethality and longevity of such abuse by a male perpetrator that is/has been their partner. However, women’s use of force with a current or past partner has emerged as a contemporary issue.
