Preliminary report on: static load response characteristics of particleboard sheathed C-lintels incorporated in external dwelling walls to Australian Particleboard Research Institute
"This test describes the static test procedure followed to investigate the load response characteristics of six (6) timber framed, particleboard sheathed C - lintels. The timber framing consisted of 90 x 45 mm x F8 Radiata pine plates and studs. The sheathing was 6 mm thick HMR particleboard wall bracing. Interconnection of sheathing to framing was effected by hand driven 2.8 mm diameter x 40 mm long galvanised clouts. All lintels were 300 mm deep, spanned 2400 mm and were supported on 300 mm widths of wall. Truss/rafter centres were taken as 900 mm for two tests and 600 mm for the remaining four tests."--p. (ii).
