Samples of white powder forming from Regain granules during sustained storage at ambient temperature were provided to CQUniversity for characterisation and putative identification. Analysis using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy revealed that this powder had the closest match to component D used in the manufacture of Regain. Moderate amounts of other constituents, including ~12% tebuthiuron, were also detected.
