Dynamic response of a low profile timber floor incorporated in a conventional low-set, brick veneer dwelling for Australian Timber Research Institute and Plywood Association of Australia

"This report gives results obained from the vibration at five (5) different stages of construction, of bearers and joists within a low profile floor of a domestic dwelling located at Meldrum Avenue, Parkhurst, via Rockhampton. The purpose of the tests was to investigate the influence of construction stage (from bare joists and bearers to final construction except for the brick veneer walls) on floor system resonance frequency and vibration amplitude. Serviceability limit states with respect to dynamic response and Code requirements necessary to control such response in various countries of the world are discussed. Calculations to determine the resonance frequency of simply supported beams are also included."--p. (i).
