"...The ultimate measure of success of a preservice teacher education program is the performance of the graduates when they commence teaching. This project was therefore designed to collect data about the practices of recent Central Queensland University [CQU] graduates, which provided indications of the quality of the science teacher preparation they received. It was further designed to gather data about the difficulties experienced by graduates in teaching science, with a view to providing feedback for preservice and inservice course construction at CQU and elsewhere. This was particularly relevant with a new preservice B Ed program which recently commenced at CQU, and with new preservice programs being initiated in many institutions across Australia..."--p. 1.
