This report is a final report from a research project funded by the Australian Coal Association Research Program (ACARP). The funding allocated by the ACARP was $272,328, and the project ran from March 2004 to March 2006. The broad aim of this project was to assist coal mining companies develop effective processes for engaging with their communities and developing impact assessment and planning processes that can be agreed by their stakeholders.
