This paper aims to investigate the role of guest speakers for both IT undergraduate and postgraduate students in the industry-aligned IT curriculum in Australian Universities. A relevance and usefulness discourse framework is applied to better understand the role of guest speakers for enhancing IT educational experience. A mixed-method approach involving an online survey and interviews for data collection purposes will be performed. The study findings are expected to provide useful information for IT academics on the role of guest speakers in achieving the intended learning outcomes.
