In the postmodern era, women, midwives, and maternity services encountered a multitude of established challenges and newly emerging complexities. This presentation delves into factors contributing to perinatal mortality and morbidity, encompassing both high-income and low to middle-income nations. It incorporates the author's firsthand encounters across diverse countries, where her mission involved enhancing midwifery capabilities. Valuable insights gained from these experiences will be imparted, alongside a discourse on leadership, collaboration and the importance of lifelong learning.
