Lawtoks: pilot videos

This arts based research project used drama a recognised meaningful method of inquiry within qualitative social research. The Lawtoks pilot aimed to improve justice messaging for young people in Central Queensland through the creation of short videos. In response to a request from the Elders of the community, Drama and Law students worked together to devleop scenarios for the video clips. Creative processes were used to collect data, conduct analysis and represent social research in this arts-based research. Performative drama is remarkably effective in representing marginalised groups. Drama-based research enabled the blurring of fiction and fact wherein the lived experience is illustrated and informed by the fictional narrative.<p></p>
