World federation of critical care nurses: Brisbane declaration on culturally sensitive critical care nursing

Culturally sensitive care is an area of nursing that falls under the moral principles stated within the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (United Nations, 1948). In particular, Article 1 declares the baseline position: All people are born free and equal in dignity and rights. Further clarification is provided under Article 2, which states: Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms… without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin.
