The objective of this study was to linguistically adapt and culturally modify the New Ecological Paradigm Scale for Children (NEP C), an assessment tool for gauging environmental attitudes in children, to Brazilian Portuguese. To achieve these objectives, two distinct studies were conducted. The initial study assessed the items based on language clarity, practical relevance, and semantic compatibility. These evaluations were carried out in collaboration with a diverse committee, and the Content Validity Coefficient was employed to evaluate the items. After that, a pilot study was conducted in 5 children to confirm if the items could be easily comprehended. It was determined that the NEP-C was successfully translated into Brazilian Portuguese, demonstrating semantic equivalence with the original scale.
