Television production considerations for satellite delivered ETV

Education in Australia has great potential to benefit from AUSSAT, the country's domestic satellite service, which became operational in late 1985; television broadcasting could produce significant and immediate benefits for primary and secondary education in Australia. As an educational medium, television is becoming increasingly flexible and popular and has a growing profile, but, if television broadcasting is going to be the principle use of satellites for education in Australia, then the factors involved in providing it require close scrutiny. Because television is such a big medium (Schramm, 1977), which is extremely expensive and labour intensive, a detailed analysis of production considerations is necessary.
