Repeated application of a particular permutation to an $n times n$ matrix results in the original matrix. The number of iterations $I(n)$ for $n=1,2, dots$ is the same as length of the period of the periodic sequence that results from the Fibonacci sequence modulus $n$ known as the Pisano period.
