Physical health and mental illness : taking action to bridge the gap

A person diagnosed with schizophrenia faces a 25 year mortality gap. Twenty years of human rights based mental health policy and reforms to mental health services, including their colocation in the general health care system, has done little to improve this alarming statistic.
