People with borderline personality disorder and burns: Some considerations for health professionals

A burn injury can be a tragic event with profound physical and psychological effects on individuals, their family and the broader community. Recovery from a burn can be influenced by a number of factors including premorbid mental health. (Aili Low, Meyer, Willebrand, & Thomas, 2012). In this column, we explore issues related to caring for burns survivors with borderline personality disorder (BPD).
