Lost in transit : the journey of ingestible temperature sensors through the human digestive tract

In studies of the human circadian system, the main marker of phase, core body temperature (CBT), is usually measured using oesophageal or rectal thermistors. Recently though, alternative systems have been developed whereby CBT is measured using ingestible temperature sensors that telemetrically transmit data to an external monitor.
