journal contribution

The paper examines India’s record in achieving inclusive growth in the context of both the conceptual debate about what constitutes inclusive growth and the evidence from some of the Asian countries. We find that India’s achievements in this respect are positive but modest. We outline a strategy for strengthening the sources of inclusive growth, including the need for more effective governance at all levels.
