Finding a solution to the nursing workforce shortage in rural and remote communities may well not be as difficult as it first appears. There are many men and women of varying ages living in remote communities who would love to become a nurse if only they had the opportunity. Unfortunately traditional models of nursing education rely on students living in metropolitan or large regional centres to complete their undergraduate training. Central Queensland University’s Bachelor of Nursing in Queensland is offering a degree by flexible delivery allowing students to remain inthe local community while studying.
