Editorial: To review or not to review …?

journal contribution
posted on 2018-09-27, 00:00 authored by Lynne Parkinson
There is no argument that reviewers are essential to the publication process and that peer review is a task that should be shared across as wide a group as possible to reduce reviewer burden. There are some advantages for peer reviewers: they can keep in touch with the new manuscripts being submitted in their area; reviewing always hones your own writing; services such as Publons (https:// publons.com/home/) can track your peer review contribution; and there is the altruistic gain of knowing you are contributing to the publications of your peers.
