In a world where the notions of ‘brand’, ‘optics’, ‘marketing’, ‘net-works’, ‘managing up’, and ‘fake it until you make it’ are becom-ing more common in the workplace (Elliot, 2022; Lajante & Ladhari, 2022), it can sometimes seem as if the traditional cur-riculum vitae (CV) has lost its clout. Nevertheless, there are var-ious situations where people are asked to provide their CVs, with potential employers, promotion panels, or funding commit-tees relying on the integrity of the CV to provide information that is truthful, current and an accurate representation of the applicant’s career. This column draws on our experience as cli-nicians, academics, managers, and researchers to provide infor-mation and tips for psychiatric-mental health nurses to develop and maintain high-quality CV's.
