This article analyses and reflects on the impact of the work of Haseman and O'Toole and their book "Dramawise" now published 21 years ago. Drawing on interviews with them and other leading drama educators, the idea of their being certain core 'elements of drama' is explored with a focus on whether they are still relevant for educators now and in the future.
