A taste of Singapore : Singapore food writing and culinary tourism

journal contribution
posted on 2017-12-06, 00:00 authored by Donna BrienDonna Brien
While Singapore foodways have attracted significant scholarship, Singapore food writing, like many artefacts of popular culture, has attracted less notice. Yet, this writing is an increasingly visible component of cultural production of, and about, Singapore, and performs a range of functions for locals, tourists and visitors before they arrive. This study focuses on Singapore food writing in English and the contribution it makes to food tourism.
