The study presents the statistical analysis of wind data at windy location of Bangladesh over a period of 20 years. The data has been shorted in sequence of appropriate frequency as hourly, daily and monthly mean wind speed. Two important parameters Weibull’s shape factor “k” and Weibull’s scale factor “c” have been obtained from the data. Weibull’s function F (v), Weibull’s probability density function f (v), theoretical available power and practically extractable power in the wind (w/m2) have also been obtained from the wind data. Weibull’s distribution such as Weibull’s shape factor, scale factor, probability density function and Weibull’s function were used as a tool for statistical analysis of the wind data. By using these tools one can easily identify the characteristics of wind wave and potential of wind power in any sites.
