A redescription of Odilia emanuelae (Nematoda: Trichostrongylina: Heligmondellidae) from Australian rodents with a key and comments on the genus Odilia
Odilia emanualae (Mawson, 1961) is redescribed from a new host, rattus leucopus from Queensland Australia. A key to the genus Odilia, based on the number and size of the ridges of the synlophe is given. The relationships of species of the genus Odilia with their murid hosts, coevolution or host switching, are discussed and speculation as to the significance of their known biogeographic distribution is put forward.
