12-month intensive individualised exercise training improves VO2Peak in a group of children with low-medium initial fitness level

Responsiveness to exercise has been shown to be similar in CF and healthy untrained children. Higher levels of aerobic fitness in CF may impact on survival. As part of a pilot exercise and nutrition programme, CPET was under-taken to determine pre-intervention aerobic capacity and to develop individualised exercise prescriptions to improve levels of fitness.
