"Scholars together" : the role of scholarship in academic professional development

This paper investigates the conceptions of a group of university teachers about what constitutes scholarly activity in the field of teaching, both in a theoretical sense and in terms of their own behaviour. The participants’ responses suggest ways in which aspects of scholarship can be used to inform professional development activities.
