Wearing two hats : teacher and learner

The authors present their stories concerning the inclusion of a new staff member into an innovative program, and the learning she undertakes. Mentoring and transitional strategies and relationships assist her in developing confidence and competence. Implication for teaching and their application to the program are discussed.
