The fall of a nation : Thomas Dixon's 'Mighty message of warning'
The Fall ofa Nation, a spectacular film made in 1916, was made just before the US entry to European War, and in response to the climate of war. As one advertisement described it, the film was: "A Big Throbbing Message to the American People: A Bugle Call to Arms for National Defence."
