Accepted knowledge systems and cultural values can be alien and marginalising. The people of Africa need to reclaim and revitalise the progressive traditional knowledge systems that have sustained them in the past. This paper argues for positioning African Indigenous Knowledge Systems (AIKS) as a socio-cultural and economic strategy central to the African Renaissance process.
