Evaluating the sustainability performance of the most suitable automotive manufacturing company is challenging due to the multi-dimensional nature of the evaluation process and the existence of subjectiveness and imprecision in the decision making process. To effectively deal with this decision making problem, this paper presents a fuzzy multicriteria decision making method for evaluating the sustainability performance of automotive manufacturing companies. To model the subjectiveness and imprecision of the decision making process, hesitant fuzzy numbers are used. A hesitant fuzzy Hamacher weighted geometric operator is proposed for aggregating hesitant fuzzy information. An example is presented for demonstrating the applicability of the method for dealing with real world automotive manufacturing performance evaluation problems.
