There are a large number of publications that deal with problem-based learning (PmBL) and project-based learning (PtBL). Some authors consider that PtBL is similar to PmBL where, in the former, the learner works on a project and the end result is a product or a service. However, to benefit from these learning methods, the learners should have a set of learning skills and the required assumed knowledge, that have already been gained in prior education. A learner who does not have them will be uninterested or less motivated in learning in both these learning environments and may leave the other team members undertake the task. The solution based learning (SBL) method that we present in this paper is more suitable for students who do not have the learning skills and assumed knowledge to learn in PmBL and PtBL environments.
