Management of assets is an important part for the business. There are subjective, objective, qualitative and quantitative aspects of asset management. Quantitative techniques used in the manufacturing sector have not been widely used in asset management area. Six Sigma is widely applied in manufacturing sector by using structured problem solving approach for continual improvement. However, this is not applied to asset management because of various qualitative and non repetitive aspects in decision making.
