conference contribution
posted on 2017-12-06, 00:00 authored by Connie ZhengConnie Zheng, Claudine SoosayClaudine Soosay, Paul HylandPaul HylandThis paper explores some issues and trends of recruitment of managers and professionals in Asia, with comparison of those multinational companies (MNCs) operating in more advanced economies (Dragon) with that in the newly developed industrialised countries (Tiger), and between manufacturing and service companies. The findings suggest that more managerial and professional capabilities are required by companies across two types of economies. Recruiting managers and professionals is a more serious issue for companies in manufacturing sector than in service sector. There is an extent of competition for talent between Dragon and Tiger economies under continued economic restructuring across the Asian countries.
