conference contribution
posted on 2017-12-06, 00:00 authored by Gopinath ChattopadhyayGopinath Chattopadhyay, Nitin ChowdharyNitin ChowdharyDegradation in railway rolling stock are major contributors of risky operations and costs depending on operational conditions, track type, characteristics of bogie, Million Gross Tonnes (MGT), curve radius, traffic type, number of loading cycles and environmental conditions. Development of models to predict reliability, maintenance and operational costs are necessary for accurate prediction of reliability and safety for developing cost effective maintenance strategies. This paper is on development of models for predicting life and operational availability.
