Most of the manufacturing and process industry are unable to utilize the full capacity of their engineering plant and asset. It is more relevant that industry today should focus on the asset productivity improvement for utilizing the optimized capacity of their plants and assets. Now the moot question is how to measure the asset productivity improvement, unless we measure the performance of the engineering asset. In this paper the authors have tried to discuss various issues associated with the performance measurement of the engineering asset and to identify the measures, so that it can facilitate the asset owners and managers to achieve the asset productivity improvements.
