This paper presents a multicriteria assessment model for evaluating the performance of urban water supply system providers. To represent the subjective and imprecise assessments of the decision maker in the performance evaluation process, interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers are used. To greatly reduce the cognitive demanding on the decision maker, the pairwise comparison technique is adopted. An effective algorithm is developed for calculating the overall priority weight value for each urban water supply system provider. An example is presented for demonstrating the applicability of the multicriteria assessment model for dealing with urban water supply provider performance evaluation problems.
