Measurements of feed efficiency in cattle fed protein-deficient diets
conference contribution
posted on 2020-12-01, 00:00 authored by P Carmona, Diogo Fleury Azevedo CostaDiogo Fleury Azevedo Costa, LDO Lima, KJ Harper, LFP SilvaImprovements in feed efficiency (FE) can lead to significant economic benefits and reduce the environmental footprint of any beef cattle production system. Animals selected for FE on high-protein (HP) diets are expected to perform as efficiently on low-protein (LP) diets. Thus, the objective of this experiment was to determine the agreement between FE rankings of beef cattle fed a HP and a LP diet.
