Learning citizenship : lifelong learning, community and the women's institutes

This paper considers questions of lifelong learning and community for older women through a study with the National Federation of Women's Institutes. It explores questions about older learners, social class, active citizenship, and community; and contributes to understandings of connections between informal participation in learning, active citizenship, and community involvement.
