This collection of papers contributes to a holistic understanding of the region and the pursuit of sustainable development in Port Curtis. The conference provided an opportunity for knowledge from many disciplines to be considered in context. The consensus of the delegates was that the Port Curtis marine environment appeared healthy despite significant infrastructure development in and around the port. There was insufficient information presented to comment on the state of the catchment and freshwater systems.
