International backpackers working in Australia : legal employment and the black economy

This paper focuses on the experiences of backpackers in Australia; and their experiences of employment. It looks at the ways in which backpackers undertake the experience of work while in Australia and also, at what levels and in what capacities they are employed. This includes both legal or illegal forms of employment. It will also briefly explore levels of exploitation and how underhanded employers regard backpackers as cheap forms of labour ready to be exploited.
