Information literacy courses : a shift from a teacher-centred to a collaborative learning environment

Collaborative learning improves student learning therefore to enhance students’ lifelong learning skills. This paper describes how the generic information-literacy courses at the University of Auckland Library, are being redesigned with a student-centred focus in a collaborative learning environment, based on sociocultural learning theories.
