Indigenous issues in higher education : the choice rests with you, me, us

The briefing I received asked me to speak to some of the key issues facing Indigenous students and Indigenous people in higher education; the new Government's commitment to "closing the gap" and "social inclusion in education" and Indigenous approaches to education; and lastly the Review of Australian Higher Education (Commonwealth of Australia, 2008) in relation to Indigenous Higher Education. This is a lot to cover in this time but I hopefully touch on the main areas that I see as a concern and that you can use for your submissions to the Review of Australian Higher Education. This paper is not representative in that I am not representing the views of a group of Indigenous people or an Indigenous organisation.
