Anecdotal evidence suggests that the ongoing study of music, through the learning of an instrument, vocal development, or the wider aspects of music theory and musicianship, plays an important role in the lives of adult students. Their testimony to the importance of lifelong music learning and the methods used in the Continuing Music Education courses at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Mackay, are the subjects of this paper.
