Humour studies in the context of tourism and their benefits for tourists have gained attention in the past decade; however the topic warrants further investigation of children as tourists. As the literature review suggests, the three functions of humour and its potential to enhance children's' learning has remained rather unexplored in tourism. This working paper employs the concept of humour and its benefits in tourism settings, to highlight the research gaps in this area, develop a conceptual model and provide implications.
