This study refers to an analysis of the thermal and energy performance of building with standard base roof and an eco- roof on the building’s bare coverings. The aims are to evaluate the performance of an eco-roof system for reducing the heat gain into a building; to examine the quantitative impact of eco-roof on the building energy consumption and to evaluate savings in cooling energy of building due to eco-roof systems. The community will be benefitted from eco-roofs by saving energy, improving air quality and reducing CO2 emissions, which will ultimately help to improve public health and welfare. This study also demonstrates a technological solution to climate change issues.
