Development of sustainability indicator of hybrid renewable energy system

conference contribution
posted on 2017-12-06, 00:00 authored by Gang Liu
As energy crisis and environmental issues have become an obstacle for the human development, renewable energy technologies for electricity generation is almost certainly required. Because solar and wind energy are free and renewable, a hybrid renewable energy (HRE) system comprising photovoltaic and wind turbine modules is used in both electricity plant and rural small grid-off system. Measuring sustainability of the HRE system is a quite complex task, as is the system itself. One solution for such a case is to develop an indicator to reflect the environmental, economical and social sustainability. A novel sustainability indicator based on comprehensive assessment method will be developed in this project.
