Over the last ten years, nursing has become an increasingly diverse profession. The role and scope of practice for nurses is changing and being challenged, where nurses are no longer "just nurses". This paper explores the multiple identities of nurses, and how generic skills need to be explicit in curricula. This is essential for the profession to respond in a dynamic and evolving health-care industry.
