Cultivating a social innovation mindset for occupational therapy students: Preparing new graduates in an evolving service delivery environment.

This paper will describe the social innovation strategy used in one highereducation setting, focusing on how the social innovation targets have informedapproaches to redesign and enhance the occupational therapy curriculum. Practicalcurricular strategies for embedding this university-led initiative within an occupa-tional therapy curriculum will be shared. These strategies include adding a corei-change module, redesigning a core occupational therapy unit, learning via interpro-fessional placements, and student exposure to socially innovative research and com-munity projects. The paper highlights the challenges and opportunities presented by these strategies.
