A case study: The creation of performance opportunities related to student training in the Bachelor of Jazz Studies program (BJS) at Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM). The study outlines the current paucity of community group music making considered essential to the training of jazz and commercial music practitioners and details the solutions employed by the BJS with particular reference to the partnership with Hamilton Island Enterprises.
